We had to phoned the appart as we were stuck in the traffic coming from KL, we had an eight hour journey, with a transit and lunch at Ipoh. They send someone to welcome us and have the check-in procedures, this guy was really professional, his name is Firman, he comes from Penang. He has a good follow up during our stay and was always eager to help, really appreciate his devotion to his work. Once we had climbed the stairs, we were quite impressed by the apartment. It was so clean and well maintained, the aircon working perfectly. The apart was ready when we arrived , did not have to wait. A spacious living room, with a table and chairs for all of our six members. Sofas and a nice TV set, with Netflix..... we could watch music video on Youtube. The kitchen has all the required necessities, a large refrigerator, washing machine with dryer which surprised us by its quality. Facilities for cooking available.. The rooms were also very clean, with large beds and clean linen. The bathrooms were also clean and really well designed. The Location is ok, quite near to various attractions, but it was sad to note that the shopping malls have been hit by the COVID, there was many shops closed and the maintenance also has suffered. Apart for 1st Avenue, the other malls were quite deceptive. Another plus side of the location is the presence of a covenience shop, offering quite a large variety of goods, even alcohol products, just 10 (ten) mts from the apart and below (at ground floor level) you have to eat at the Shusis hotel and the different Mamak ( selling local foods, so delicious). There are so many places for foods at any time of the day and I felt secured for my family. The best place for shopping is by far at Gurney, yes it is at a higher level, even for the night markets. Concerning transport I must say that it is so easy to use Grab. Bus also is ok. Overall the apart ( 3 bedrooms ) was a very good choice for my first visit in Penang. I look forward for my next visit.

The hotel was literally diagonally across KOMTAR. Strategic place as many eateries were within walking distance. The entire floor was huge and the necessary amenities were provided including detergent for clothes and dishes. The initial fear was noises from the main street was not as bad as expected. Where I lived is way worse. Everything was clean and the living area is a nice hangout place for the entire family to gather around watching TV while enjoying each others company. The staff who came to clean was polite and courteous. Advice to whatsapp the property ahead of time as the centralised PHC hotel lobby was not opened on the day we arrived. Luckily they were prompt to answer the message and helpful to arrange a staff to guide us to keep the luggage while roam around Georgetown first waiting for check-in. The check-in process was done in the room itself and the staff was a jolly fellow. Everything was brought in his backpack and he brought us around introducing the rooms and the amenities. A nice hotel to go to for those with larger families as the staff did mentioned the room we paid for can house up to 10 people.

I don't remember how many times I've been coming back to this hotel and other PHC hotels for years. Because of their location, comfy room interior design and well equipped room facilities. Their hotel is like a comfortable home. But this time around, I'm a little disappointed with the housekeeping services. No one has long hair in my family. But every time i came back after they cleaned my room, I realised there was a lot of long hair on the floor around the room. I assumed, they mopped the room without rinsing it well from the previous room. When I stay in a hotel, cleanliness is important. Because the hotel is a place people come and go. To keep it clean every time for the guests, should be a priority. Will I ever come back to Magazine Vista? Definately. I love this place. My family loves it here.

The location of the hotel is very convenient as it is opposite one of the most famous attraction, The Top Penang, which is also one of the tallest building in Penang. Staffs are friendly. The hotel is very spacious and super cosy.
